I can only wear NB and so ordered a half size up as usual… wore these the first time today, hiked Red Rocks (NV) off trail, all the way to the top. Lots of scrambling/climbing/loose rocks/crazy terrain. NOT ONE MISSTEP. No blisters. Zero foot pain. Lots of ankle support. For all their sturdiness they’re surprisingly lightweight, too. 10/10 would buy again! Read more

These are a great pair of shoes. They are rugged but light weight. They are a great all around shoe. The fit is what I expected from New Balance. I have a wide foot and high arch. The toe box height is good but a tad narrow for my wide foot. But I think they just need some breaking in since it is kind of stiff right now. They are waterproof. The sides of tongue are attached to the shoe so that water does not get in. This shoe is designed similar to the now discontinued New Balance Women’s WO790 Light Hiking Boot. (I loved those shoes! I had 3 pairs of them.) It has been 2 years since I have been looking for something like that and now I have found it! The lining is removable so that I can put my own orthotics in it if need to. The color is mostly brown but with a hint of pink in the laces and fabric loops for laces. I am looking forward to adventures in these shoes! Read more

Living in HI, I was interested in this shoe because it is waterproof – I have a pair of the Fresh Foam waterproof boots and they truly are waterproof – with these walking shoes, I did get half a size smaller than usual only because I ordered a WW width instead of just the W or D width – they have a lot of support and are comfortable – my only complaint is that the round shoelaces do NOT stay tied – that didn’t matter too much, as I get the elastic, no tie laces to put on all my shoes – I got brown laces to match the shoes, replaced the round laces, and have had no lace problem since – highly recommend this shoe, especially if waterproof is important Read more

These shoes made me feel like I was wearing men’s shoes/clown shoes. The toe box is wider than most shoes. The pictures show how much bigger these shoes are compared to Keen’s, New Balance, and Merrell’s of some exact size. They rose higher on my ankle so they were not comfortable if I wasn’t wearing an ankle sock as opposed to low cut. They were comfortable, waterproof, and very supportive so I wore them for a trip to Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Iceland. They were a good alternative to packing my hiking shoes for Iceland, but way too Bulky for Scandanavia. By the end of the trip I was really sick of them. Update: since my New Balance trailwalkers finally wore out, I’m wearing these for my daily walks at home. Once again, supportive but bulky. Read more

I wear almost exclusively New Balance shoes because I have very wide feet and they are one of the only brands that makes a true women’s EE width. I ordered this in my normal 7.5 EE and it is much narrower than either my NB running shoes or my NB hiking boots. My heel was also slipping a lot. Too bad because I would really like a waterproof walking/hiking shoe to bridge the gap between light weight running shoes and full on hiking boots, but this just doesn’t work for me. Read more

I read all the reviews before ordering and agree with most of the remarks. Nice looking, made well, and just what I was looking for. They fit in length and are just a little skimpy for a wide shoe, but not a deal breaker. My two problems are that my heel slipped with every step. And, I found them just a little clunky for me – I tripped a couple times. Didn’t fall but I think they just aren’t a good shoe for me. Read more

Ugly, but comfy. I am on my feet for over 8 hours Monday through Friday working a very physical job. These have been great so far. They are a typical New Balance fit. Supportive and light weight. Because I handle goopy crap all day that leaks sometimes, such as shampoos and lotions, etc., I am very happy they are waterproof. I would say these would be great for hiking. Read more

I like these NB shoes because they are well constructed. They fit as expected and I can definitely walk and workout in these shoes. I went with a larger width so I can wear thicker sox. I buy NB shoes and this pair has to be one of the better made NB shoes hands down. This is only my opinion. Read more
