I don’t write many reviews, but I buy MANY pairs of shoes per year looking for “the right thing”. I won’t go into my foot problems, but I need to wear a brace that fits inside the entire length of my shoe while still giving me room, as well as being comfortable to walk in. I saw Gravity Defyer and despite normally buying men’s wide shoes to fit my brace, I bought the women’s Orion XW in my normal size 9. Opening the box, they looked small, but they fit my feet and brace comfortably. Somehow these manage to make my feet size look almost normal – and for a woman, that is so great. I had plenty of depth and they send 2 nice pairs of orthotics as extras that you can use to adjust the fit or swap for one with more arch support. The width and toe room are great, but the best part of these are how you feel when you walk in them. If you have foot problems, you know how it affects every part of your life. All I can say is these have made my life better – what higher compliment can you ask for? Read more

I was an avid MBT walking shoe advocate. I was unable to find any in my size suddenly and searched long and hard to find something comparable. I found these G-defy Athletic shoes on Amazon and did some further research. I liked what I found and decided to give them a try…..they are a little more expensive then the MBT’s but I have not been disappointed. They are light weight and supportive and I would not say that lightly after being a multiple mile daily walker of many years. Read more

Bought these for very painful Planter Fasciitis issues … amazing difference. On the 2nd day I started wearing them I had very little to no pain. It’s been a couple weeks now and I have no problems as long as I don’t go too long without these shoes. Expensive but highly recommended for heel pain/plantar fasciitis. Read more

This shoe is terrific! I have had foot reconstruction, flat feet, plantar fasciitis…a history with foot pain/issues. This shoe is better than any shoe that I have bought for comfort and walking. I have custom orthotic inserts…tried them and don’t use them. Prior to the purchase of these shoes I used them all of the time. The inserts that came with the shoe are more comfortable and the support is great. I walk at least five miles a day and before surgery, I couldn’t walk across the room. These are the best shoes that I have found and they were recommended to me by a friend who bought four pairs at once because they were so comfortable. They fit true to size for me. Read more

With some adjustments, this is a very good quality shoe. When I first tried them on, the shoes felt kind of high. I’m not able to use the extra black inserts because I have flat feet. There is an arch bump that bothers me because of my flat feet, but I remedied it with a pair of double air pillow insoles; the arch bump doesn’t bother me as much. I can definitely feel the shock absorption in the heel. I like that the sole is rounded. I had considered Brooks Addiction, but they don’t have the rounded soles that I need. I am a heavy, 60-year old woman. I have issues with my lower back, hips, knees and feet. The shoes don’t do much to help my back (I have a herniated disc with nerve pain), but, since I started wearing them, I feel virtually no pain in my hips, knees and feet after running errands. I would definitely recommend this shoe for people who suffer from hip, knee and/or foot pain. Read more

I was very hesitant to order shoes online but have been on a search for a shoe that my orthotics fit in to well as well while still looking up to date. Many years ago I unknowingly bulged the L1 disc in my back, all I knew was for six months I was having horrible sciatica and radiant pain down my right leg. Ibuprofen alleviated the pain and there was work to be done then after the project was completed I spoke to my doctor and she ordered an MRI. Confirmed bulged disc, bad news I waited so long to do anything the disc had already started calcifying. Result constant sciatica and radiant pain down my right leg…until these shoes arrived. I put my orthotics in these shoes and put them on and literally as soon as I stood up that always there pain vanished! I had to wear these shoes for an hour or two a day so my legs and feet could adjust to how these shoes correct pronation that you never knew was there as well as a few other corrections that your muscles will let you know are taking place lol but it is well worth the mild inconvenience for the first week so actually be able to go out and leave the anti-inflammatories at home. I have narrow thin feet so it fits better with socks on but other than that I love them!!! Helped with my hip, knee, and flat feet so I can walk or do aerobics without pain! That’s without my orthodox inserts! I used the ones they provide With the shoe. So happy!! Read more

The shoe lace looks cheap and not good quality for the price. I’m size 8 but it’s too big, I tried putting the insert that comes with it but still loose. Now it’s too late for me to return and having heel pain after using it for over a month. And it is suppose to help with foot pain. Should stick to kuru, had it for about a year, very comfortable. I usually change shoes every 6 months, but feels like not even 2 months I’m done with my gravity defyer 😞 Read more
