I live in Vermont and need more traction in a shoe than the sole on this provides. While the shoe itself fits great and is very comfortable, I have slipped several times and fallen once when wearing them. My feet just literally slid right from under me. Read more

This is a quality shoe and I previously have worn a lace shoe from Dr. Comfort. This Velcro closing shoe is much easier and works just as well as a lace shoe. I was always tripping over my shoe laces and they would come untied, even when double knotted. No more lace shoes for me. When I first put these on, I thought they weren’t going to be that comfortable, but then I inserted the Gel inserts that they include with the shoes and that made a big difference. They also include a shoehorn in the package, as well as some non-Gel inserts. They seem to be worth the money, although more than I usually pay for a good shoe. I will buy Dr. Comfort again because they are very comfortable shoes. I wore another brand for a while and never liked them as much. Read more

These shoes are very well built. The material and quality of construction are excellent. However……….they are the hardest and most difficult shoes to break in I have ever had since my leg injuries. After several months I can still only wear them for a short period of time. I do not say that this will be true for other folks but for me they just do not work well. Again, the build and quality are excellent, so is the fit, but I would not buy them again for my personal use. Read more

This was an excellent shoe and a great fit – but you have to use the insert that is included. Of course most people would do that, but I tried them on first without using the insert and it was obvious that it was needed. I don’t know about the spacers that were also included – I did not use them and am happy with the fit. I did not give this a 5 star because I have not worn the shoes all that much yet, and the strap closure is a bit stiff. I feel this will work its way out over time, and aside from that the shoes are great! Read more

Extremely comfortable shoes for feet that swell. Very nice quality leather and padded lining. Gel insoles are very comfortable. The shoes are true to size. My left foot swells more than my right foot, but with these shoes it is easy to adjust the Velcro straps to accommodate the difference. They were secure and comfortable the first day I wore them. They also look good with dress slacks–not too dorky. Well worth the price. Read more

These shoes are very comfortable and even come with optional arch supports. Make sure you order the correct shoe size – these shoes are very roomy. Instead of shoe laces, they use Velcro like strap which makes putting them on and taking them off very easy. They are very smooth on the inside which prevents a lot of possible discomforts. The price is high if you don’t need the arch supports – a deal if you do. Read more

I have significant edema in my feet and ankles, and it makes my feet to each be a different size. I have been wearing 10.5/W with gores (shoelace shoes are impossible) but still they are hard to put on and take off, and abraded my ankles and heels. I belatedly discovered diabetic shoes with velcro adjustments for my very high swollen insteps. These fit well and are comfortable. As others have noted, they are more like 2-3W, but that turns out to be what I needed. They are also attractive IMHO, it isn’t obvious that they are diabetic ones. Read more

I bought these for my Dad in a wide. They are extremely wide. I recommend getting a regular if you are a wide in other shoes. The wide fits like a double wide in other brands. My dad has to wear double socks with them to feel comfortable. I didn’t want to return them, as he doesn’t walk too much. He does not have diabetes but he is more seditary so his feel swell, so regular in others shoes were too tight. I was surprised at how wide these wides are. Next time I order I will get regular. Other than that these shoes are great. My dad has hammer toe and these were what his podiatrist recommended. Read more
