[ NB: Amazon has mixed up the order of my uploaded images ] These Moreno Oxford shoes, manufactured in China of canvas and man-made materials, are slightly larger and a touch wider than my other shoes of the same size. The quality of the canvas seems good, the shoe’s inner surfaces are smooth without annoying seams, and the dark-grey plastic soles are non-slip and non-marking. There is a rather moderate arch support (yellow area in one figure), which has slightly more resistance to finger pressure than the inner sole. The lacing edges of the shoe quarters do not close completely, being separated by 1.25″ on the top part and by 1.75″ on the bottom part. Each shoe weighs only 8.6 oz (248 g). A negative element is the non-generous (read tightish) throat line –that is, the stitch joining the shoe’s tongue to the vamp part : see the blue oval in the top of the same figure–, whose annoying pressure when the shoe is flexed is felt more the longer I walk, despite that my feet do not have a disproportionately high dorsum or need wide shoe sizes. This is likely to be rather bothersome to those with a medium-to-high dorsum foot height. _____ UPDATE (October 2019) The shoes became extremely comfortable after a few days of throat and vamp stretching. Vamp risers or stretchers are absurdly expensive compared to the conventional toe-box stretchers, but shoes can be stretched by bending forward the heel counter and placing a toe-box stretcher at 90° so its widest arc of aperture is on the throat line, as shown in an attached figure. It is frustrating that Amazon ranks 3 stars (the midrange) as a negative rating, instead of a neutral one, and that half stars are not allowed. To me this a clear case of a more than 3 but less than 4 stars rating; it would be 4 stars if the throat-line stretching were not needed. _____ UPDATE (May 2020) In quite frequent but not daily use over the last 16 months, these shoes have not presented any significant problems or defects. I keep all my shoes in shoetrees when when not in use, and that is particularly useful with this kind of shoe, which otherwise looses it shape. The canvas remains in good shape. The soles (see third figure) are in much better condition than expected from other Skechers I have used but, even then, still have the problem that once the intricate but superficial sole pattern disappears under the ball of the foot, there is a non-trivial risk of slipping on wet(tish) smooth floors. All together, they have performed well enough to increase their rating to 4 stars. _____ UPDATE (DECEMBER 2020) Bought another pair in another store at a reduced price in case the model gets discontinued. . . I’m not a review writer but these shoes earned my time! I needed a comfy sharp looking shoe for my trip to Europe. I normally wear running shoes but had to get away from the quintessential “American” tourist look. These shoes were just what I needed! I put on a ton of miles each day and the memory foam insert paired with the cushioned sole let me push hard all day touring museums and seemingly every cobblestone street across 5 countries! My first but not last pair of Sketchers! Thanks for the product! Read more

I usually wear 9.5 in a dress shoe and 10 in a running sneaker, 9.5 Sketchers are a good fit. These are a more conservative design of Sketchers that don’t look like a kids shoe, in my opinion. I wore them to the office with jeans and a dress shirt instead of my usual leather dress shoes, and I’d wear them out for a casual dinner as well. They are very comfortable to walk in. They are dressier than sneakers but less formal than leather dress shoes – perfect for the casual tech company cube farm Read more

I wanted a tan/light brown sneaker but couldn’t find any cloth sport shoe. These ‘deck’ shoes were the closest I could find in my size. My problem is specific to something that may not be of any concern to others. All my other Sketchers ‘sport’ shoes is that I can pre-tie the shoes, leaving the top eyes empty, and I can use a long shoe horn to “Slip them on.” Not these shoes. It seems that the tops come up higher than sport shoes thus you when you try to ‘slip’ them on, even with a shoe-horn, the tongue folds under. I have artificial hips and can’t get down low enough to tie my own shoes. That’s my issue and has no barring on the quality of the shoes. I do like these enough that I’ll only wear them when my wife is home and can help me get those tongues pull out. Other than that… cool looking shoes… I like them and the comfort is very good. Seems unfair to review a shoe so soon after buying it. Not worn every day. Good looking but be aware that ordering wide sizes will get you really wide toe box which obviously changes the look of the shoe. If one is not 4e, I would suggest buying regular. I usually wear a 2e and I’m sorry that I ordered wide. I can’t comment on durability yet. Read more

Let’s be clear, my husband does NOT notice shoes. Having said that, we were recently at a function and a friend was wearing these shoes. My husband talked about them on the drive home. Go figure! I texted our friend to find out the brand and vendor. Now here we are! Hubby loves his new shoes – comfort and style! Took 10 years off his look – lol! Great purchase. Happy fella and feet.
