I’m on my feet all day, mostly pavement. I’m also a pretty big bro, so foot comfort is KEY for me. These Keens are quite comfy once I got used to the roomy toebox.I pulled off a star because these are extreme sweatboxes for me. I’ve run the gamut of Merrells and such and gave these a try after seeing them in REI. Unfortunately, I’m not that thrilled having my socks feel glued to my feet when I take them off – and lordy the stink!I’m taking measures with shoe trees, etc. to combat the shortcoming but I wish I didn’t have to!Read more

I just received these shoes a week ago but I just love them! They fit perfectly and display the same level of quality I’ve come to expect from Keen footwear: superb. So far I love these shoes!!Full transparency: I’ve worn the Targhee II for years but chose to pay a little more for the Targhee III this time in hopes that the leather won’t separate from the sole, just behind the toe box. I think/hope that the design of the Targhee III will prevent that from happening.Read more

My husband has a somewhat wide foot and a low arch which makes it tough to find a comfortable shoe. He tried on the Keens at Dicks Sporting Goods and even though they felt great he thought it was a bit to much to pay for shoes. So I went to Amazon and they were cheaper so I bought them. Now he won’t take them off. He walks the beach, kayaks, bikes and hikes in them. His knee problem is even better. I would highly recommend trying them based on my husband taking 60 years to find a shoe that actually fits and one he loves.Read more

I’ve had a couple of pair of Keen’s and like them for the wide fit and roomy toe box. But this shoe in my normal size was uncharacteristic ally too narrow. I like the looks the fit was just off. I found out that there is a wider size available in the same show on the Keen website and ordered it from there and the fit was much better.Read more

I’m a dog walker and put in a lot of miles. About six months ago I began a long battle to resolve a case of planters fasciitis, something that I’ve never had before. I won’t go through all of my efforts to overcome it’s effects. But after doing some research I ordered a pair. I ordered them in wide to accommodate a pair of inserts that fit perfectly over the top of the ones provided by Keen. I wore them right out of the box and put in about 50 miles the first four days. Guess what? No planters fasciitis! Absolutely no symptoms at all. Pain free. I’ve found my shoe. I’ll be a regular from here on out. I love them!Read more

I’ve owned a pair of all-leather black Keens before – lasted 10 yrs! These seem equally well-made and fit well. The toe box is a bit smaller than my old keens but still larger than most (thank goodness!) and accommodates my slightly wide-at-the-toes (D/E) foot nicely. The insole is very comfortable but lacks the amount of arch support I like by a bit – not the high arch that my old boots had. They are still very comfortable for several hours. Not sure about a half-day or all-day hike though. Of course this is a very personal thing and…your mileage may vary. The grip of these soles is outstanding, just like my old Keens. I can walk sideways on slopes and these suckers just grab on and don’t let go. The block pattern on the sole also fits into the pedals of my hybrid bike perfectly – grip is so secure it almost feels like I’ve got cages on the pedals.I’ve not tested these in rainy or otherwise wet conditions so this review is a bit premature but I will revisit the review once I’ve done so. They do get a bit warm after an hour or so when it’s warm out but not as badly as I expected – there’s enough breathing to keep moderately cool even though they are water resistant – good compromise. On the whole, a REALLY good value with good performance, good fit, and good comfort – just slightly too little arch support for me. Not bad enough for a 4-star rating but I’d give 4-1/2 if it was an option. So…5-stars it is. I’ll revisit that rating after a few months and a few miles.Photos are of the bellows tongue.Read more

These were my third pair of Keen hiking shoes. The prior two were great. Each offered a decent amount of protection against water, and was well built. These . . . not so much.Nobody should reasonably expect any shoe to keep his or her foot dry when going through a puddle that rises well above the sole. Still, for the price, a shoe like this should keep your feet dry if you are working in wet grass, walking outside after a light rain, etc. Unfortunately, water enters toe box all the time on these shoes, even if I am walking on damp pavement or concrete.Second, the sole on each of my shoes started separating about three months after I purchased them in the spring of 2020. The separation occurred about four inches from the toe tip. Nothing like this ever occurred on my other pairs of Keens. It’s not like I am out every weekend in these rock climbing, or otherwise subjecting them to harsh use. I wear them for walking, and light outdoor work like gardening and maintaining my lawn. I was able to use some shoe adhesive to repair the separation, but one does not spend a decent bit of money on a pair of trail shoes with the expectation that they will have to be repaired after a few months of normal use.In short, I got Wal-Mart shoes for about three times what it would cost to buy a pair of Wal-Mart shoes.Read more

I really like these shoes, and use them for walking. I wear a womens 11.5 sometimes wide, which is hard to find, so I usually wear mens 10.5 regular, and these are just great. Very supportive, great traction, great for winter. Worth the money for these wonderfully constructed shoes.Read more
