I needed a quick pair of Gaiters for an upcoming last minute trip to mount Rainer. I was earlier thinking to rent one from the guides there who recommended Outdoor research gaiters but these costed the same as the rental so I decided to take the risk after reading through the favorable reviews. I had few expectations :– Correct sizing to go over my mountaineering double layer plastic boots- lightweight and waterproof- tear resistant since I would be using cramponsFollowing are my observationsReviews suggested to go up one size but I did go over 2 just to be safe which worked. However I feel if I would have ordered just one size up that would have worked as well. I am 5’6 140 pounds athletic with proportional calves, ordered large(medium would have worked as well). These were light weight but felt flimsy straight out of the box.Coming to durability, these aren’t meant for any serious use, just one day summit trip left these torn at multiple places. I would upload the pics soon. I feel these would work fine for light snowshoeing or fat biking but not for serious climbing adventure over multiple days. I would now need another pair as replacement since these are done.** if you found this review helpful then don’t forget to vote ‘Yes’, it really helps me to be motivated and share more with the community **Read more

I bought two pairs of there gaiters for our trip to Banff National Park in Alberta Canada, and they did not disapoint. When sized and installed correctly they kept all the snow and moisture out of our boots. They also kept our legs warmer. The deepest snow we hiked through was 12″+ and no issues. I read reviews from some people that the strap at the top of the leg kept coming loose, so all we did was double back the strap through the buckle after tightening it and we had zero issues. Couldn’t of been happier for the price.Read more

This will come in handy for hiking and for snowshoeing this winter. The gaiters are well-stitched and the material is sturdy but the gaiters are still pretty lightweight. To waterproof the gaiters, the inside of the gaiter is lined on the top as well as the bottom. I ordered the Large size but must have received the Medium as the tag on the top inside of the gaiters said ‘M’. Luckily they fit fine and also the velcro closing that runs the length of the gaiter, from the top to the bottom, is 2 inches wide so there is some room for fine tuning. There are buckle straps on the top and bottom of the gaiters for further adjustability. Once adjusted, the gaiters stay in place. Finally, the gaiters fold down flat for portability.Read more

the only problem is the size — ordered a medium which just fit but with extra layers will be tight. I am 5/9 thin legs someone with large calves couldn’t wear a medium.Paul FRead more

I admittedly have not used these in the field yet as I guess I messed up on the size selection when I ordered them. (I could have sworn I chose large, but my order clearly says “M”). I’m 5’10 but I do have very strong, thick calves and there is no way the medium will work. I could not even get the Velcro to connect. I am concerned a little about the large and may end up ordering the extra-large to be safe. I decided not to return the medium ones as other members in my back-packing group may find them useful. The one issue I can see having with them is that the strap that goes under the boot may have to be repaired periodically. It’s plastic and I’ll be curious about how it holds up at Dolly Sods in West Virginia in a couple of weeks. I’m ordering a different larger size in a moment so I’ll place a review on those after I’ve actually used them.Read more

These work but the comments about sizes caused me to buy one size bigger than what I thought would fit. Sadly these are too big, I still try to wear them but they bunch up and sag. I would just order the size you think would fit and do not over compensate like some of the comment suggest. I wear Large but ordered XL, even over the baggiest pants I own were too big. I am 6’1 , 200 lbs but my calf’s are not enormous.Read more

First pair I’ve ever owned and though I’m a beginner snowshoer, I know quality. They fit as described and the bonus is that you get the front lace loop that you don’t typically get in this price range. Easy to take on and off and the lower portion is made of a more durable material to ensure they don’t wear quickly.Read more

Worked great in knee deep powder snow conditions with my snow boots while snoeshoeing! I have 15″ calfs from running and a size large felt comfy with a little room…I ordered a medium size too but those were a little too snug for my taste. Gaiters stayed up for the 4 hour trek, really happy with them as I had running leggings on…and my legs stayed dry the entire time.Read more
