I got these because I wore very similar shoes when I was younger and had fond memories of them. They are just as good as I remembered. I do a lot of walking, and I live out in the country where the paths and roads are either gravel, rocks, or just trails through the woods. I’d previously been wearing athletic shoes, but they didn’t work so well because they were constantly picking up small rocks in the crevices of the soles. The crepe soles don’t pick up small rocks, so my floors stay much cleaner–in fact they pick up far less dirt and debris than any of the walking/athletic shoes I used to wear. To my surprise, the thick soles also protected the soles of my feet from rocks better, as well–rocky surfaces were far less noticeable than when I wore athletic shoes. That was a big shock to me, since I expected the athletic shoes to perform better, which was not the case at all.As for size, I wear between an 8.5 and 9. With these, I erred on the side of larger, but it turns out the shoes run a little bit large. I should have gotten the 8.5 instead of the 9, but nonetheless, I still like the size 9 and I just wear a slightly thicker sock. I wanted to note that the back heel area is not as curved or “sculpted” as some shoes, so the heel does fit a little loosely. I have a very thin heel, so I did notice that, but wearing a thicker sock works well enough for me. I have trouble with blisters, which is why I prefer a slightly looser shoe. I’ve worn these a lot and have never gotten any blisters yet. They are quiet and very comfortable. The leather is a little stiff, but it didn’t bother me, however it might need a little breaking in period.I like the “boxy” toe because it doesn’t crimp my toes. The shoe does run a little long/large, so my toes are nowhere near the end. However, because I am prone to blisters, I’d rather this be the case, though the 8.5 would probably have been a better fit. If you are between sizes, you might want to buy the smaller size. I actually think the sizing is truer for shoe sizes in the past–it seems like I wear a smaller size (8.5) with higher quality or older styles of shoes, while cheaper/new styles seem to require a larger size (9). Just an observation/opinion.If you want quiet, well-made, sturdy shoes that don’t track in a lot of pebbles and dirt, you really should take a look at these. They are great for walking in areas that aren’t paved, because the thick crepe soles really do protect your feet very well.Read more

I wanted a pair of classic Clarks but thought the Wallabee was a little too manly. The Padmora is a touch more feminine and they are so cute when worn in a fashion forward way. There’s definitely a line where they can veer into “elderly orthotic” so I plan carefully. Skinny jeans and pants, joggers, rolled cargos, etc look cute and with no show socks. I’m normally an 8 in most shoes (Vans, Nike, Jeffrey Campbell, Seychelles) but got the 7.5 in these and they are perfect. I have a wide forefoot and narrow heel and have no issues with them being too narrow or coming off my heels.Read more

Photos do not represent the smooth brown. I purchased the sand color prior to. With that said, I normally wear a size nine, and the brown, smooth leather were my third pair of these. The first two pairs were suede and I got them in a nine, knowing that the suede would stretch a bit. Ordered the brown smooth leather in a nine as well and they fit more like an eight. I even put them sole to sole with my other pairs and the brown smooth leather soles are significantly smaller. Not sure if it was a fluke defect, so returned for a size 10. I’ll be sure to review the size 10’s when they arrive. Otherwise, a beautifully constructed, high quality, and ultra comfortable shoe. They never disappoint! With the exception of the wrong sizing with this particular pair, I will definitely order again, and again. A staple of my wardrobe for almost 15 years. If you’re debating on buying them, look at the price. It’s incredibly low, considering, I paid $140.00€ for my first pair. Ps….I said they fit as expected, because I believe the brown smooth leather pair I ordered were wrongly sized.Read more

I am disappointed in this shoe. I thought it was like shoes I bought years ago which were the best. Wearing those shoes years ago gave me a bounce to my step and my feet felt great. I walked all over Yosemite, hiked up steep mountain paths, and never got tired and my feet felt great… glad I wore those shoes. But the Clark shoes surely do not stand up to the ones I had, they only look like them. They slip up and down when I walk, seems they are not deep enough and the soles make you think they are going to be nice and springy…NOT… They are a nice looking shoe, but that’s about it… Pretty much a disappointment….Read more

I recently started having heel pain from Plantar Fasciitis, and decided to immediately remedy by purchasing some sensible shoes for work. These are very supportive, but a tad barrow.I have wide feet and often opt for an 8 over a 7.5 for this reason. I got a 7.5 in these, and they fit great lengthwise – but the toe area does rub a tiny bit on 1)the top of my big toe and 2)the side of my pinky toe on one foot. I’m hoping they stretch a bit. I’ve been wearing now for 5 hours and my right foot feels a tad squashed.I think they are cute, but my husband thought they look like orthopedic shoes. I wouldn’t wear them every day bc they do look a tad grandma-esque, but not too bad. Pair them with cute fun socks. I included a pic.Read more

I followed the advice of the rest of the reviewers and ordered a half size smaller than what I wear. I’m an 8 1/2 and I ordered an 8 which fit perfect. These do run a tad large, so I would definitely go with a 1/2 size down. Super comfortable and stylish to wear if you need to be on your feet all day.Read more
