The bottom glides on the Toro Snowblowers are metal and will rust out after several years of coming in contact with snow and ice. These plastic glides are kinder on your driveway. They are heavy ABS plastic. The install is very simple. All hardware is included. Change out the stock metal ones in less than 5 minutes. The plastic ones are reversible also. If they wear down after several years just flip them around to get essentially a new set of pads. They are well made. The snowblower glides easily with them on. I would have bought them sooner had I known about them before. My Toro Max snowblower is 10 years old and it is an absolute work horse. Never one problem. Invest in one if you have a long driveway and moderate snowfall. .You will save major $$$ over contracting with a plow company. Of course you do have to get out there and use it, but that is half the fun.Read more

I was pleased the shoe kit was delivered earlier than expected and packaged well. First time trying out this type of non metal skid shoe. I’ve been repairing and replacing steel (soft steel) skid shoes year after year. Thought I’d try these. They make sense plus, they can be flipped whenever wearing takes place. So it’s like having a spare set included. I’ll have to re-post with my experience. Also, the mounting holes on these are 3″ center to center and do come with a nice spacer/washer plate and 4 longer carriage bolts with locking nuts. My Toro is a 521 model that I purchased in the 90’s. Anyway, I had to use the plate the skid shoes came with to act as a spacer because the mounting area is not totally flat because of the stiffening stamps in the steel. Then I decided to duplicated them to use for a uniform washer system that this kit was intended to use as instead of separate washers. The bolts were the correct size just as the kit comes and just long enough for my alteration. Please know, it doesn’t matter much now but it’s would’ve been helpful to know the distance of the bolt hole mounting slots center to center. If it’s listed somewhere, I didn’t see it. Anyway, on the Toro 521 machine, the bolt holes are 2″ on center thus, I had to drill another hole and file it square to accommodate the carriage bolt system. All in all, I like how it came out. I’ll update when I try it out. Good luck to all. Thank you.Read more

These glides fit my Toro MAX 1028 OXE perfectly and certainly provide a smoother surface for your snowblower to move. The existing metal glides were rusting on mine, and that rust was getting onto my pavers so changing them to plastic was a no-brainer. Installation is very simple and fast. I removed 1 star for the fact that they are extremely overpriced for what they are; two pieces of molded plastic with simple mounting hardware.Read more

I replaced my original skids with the metal version of this and they wore out very quickly. These are MUCH better and have been durable thus far. A good value. Also, they slide against the concrete driveway with ease. I will definitely re-order when these eventually wear out.Read more

Honestly I hate getting new skids because they keep the blower too far up off the driveway until they wear down some, and these are no different. Having said that I like these skids and the smooth ride that they provide, no grinding sound of metal on concrete.Read more

These are a nice alternative to the steel ones that are included with the snow blower. They mount up easy enough and can be adjusted as required.Read more

If you have a Toro 2-stage Snow Blower, GET THESE. Do Not go aftermarket. You’ll spend a bit more for these, but they’re made to fit Toro Machines properly!!!Read more
