I bought this to replace the slide shoes of my 19 year old 24″ MTD Yard Machines snow blower E600E, part number 784-5580.I received a returned or open item. The package was open along the edge on all three sides. The shoes were out of the package when I received. Not happy that Amazon sent me a returned item. However, item did not look used.I have installed it on my snow blower, no issues. They are as thick as the original one it replaced, looks well made, hope it will last few years. The package contains only the slide shoes. I bought new carriage bolts and nuts. Reused the bell washers since they were in good shape and I could not find them here on Amazon or in stores. MTD parts online sell them at $2.71 a piece, that’s too much.Removing one star for the returned / open box item.Read more

Old slide shoes were worn down along with the shave plate so I decided to replace them both. Old carriage bolts were rusted so badly I had to cut them off. These replacement shoes seem good but will only be able to know for sure after a winter of use. My only complaint is that these do not come with new carriage bolts. Fortunately there is an old fashioned hardware store a mile away that carries every nut, bolt and screw you can imagine. The new carriage bolts I got there were much cheaper than I saw online.Read more

Perfect fit. Bolt pattern is perfect for troy-bilt. I bought 2 sets thinking it was 1 per pack. There are 2 in each pack.Read more

As a chunk of thick sheet metal goes… So much more economical than the local products with different names on them. They last for years so I don’t see the need for hardened surfaces or billet pieces. Perfect fit for 90% of snowblowers and the others could be made to fit with a drill and a bolt! Speaking of bolts, you may want to measure up some replacement carriage bolts, they will be rusty. Luckily my 5 gal bucket-o-bolts had plenty of options that worked out well.Read more

Appear well made. They worked well on the asphalt roadway, with no skipping or shuddering due to excessive friction, but they did not slide well on the concrete driveway or sidewalk. They are fine when the snow is hard packed, and they cannot contact the concrete. I get a lot of powdery snow here and the shoes drop right down through it to the concrete. I can only recommend these for use on asphalt surfaces.I’ve replaced these with a set of polyurethane slide shoes which slide very smoothly on the concrete.Read more

Ordered the wrong part for my specific application, but holding onto it anyway since I work on machines for family and friends. I’ll likely have a need for these somewhere down the road. Bottom line, make sure it fits your machine before you order. The price point was much better for this set than the set I actually needed for the machine.Read more

Bought as back up. Not installed yet. Replacements for a plastic set that won’t last long due to concrete driveway which wears the plastic down badly. Metal should be much longer lasting. Don’t believe I will need the new ones till next year.Read more

Shoes are very thin and not uniform. I would not purchase again, when these wear out I’ll try Stens or Oregon. Package was also crushed during shipping. That being said the shoes did fit without issue.Read more
